VROOM Privacy Policy

VROOM is played without an account. Your progress stays on your phone. Here is the little that leaves it, where it goes, and why.

Last updated: October 19, 2026.

This is a translation of the version française, which prevails in case of discrepancy.

In short

  • No account, no e-mail address: your progress is saved on your device, and nowhere else.
  • The VROOM+ subscription is paid to Apple or Google. RevenueCat checks that it is active using a random identifier, without your name or e-mail.
  • Ads are only shown if you choose to watch one to earn fuel. They are never personalized.
  • No cross-app tracking, no sale of data, no request for your location, contacts, photos or microphone.
  • Deleting the app erases your progress.

Who is responsible

VROOM is published by Florian Peyrot, sole trader (French micro-entreprise) trading as Le Conducteur Malin, 14 rue Waldeck-Rousseau, 69520 Grigny-sur-Rhône, France, SIREN 130 886 013. He is the controller of the processing described here. Contact: contact@leconducteurmalin.fr.

This page covers the VROOM app for iPhone and Android, and its web version at leconducteurmalin.fr/vroom. The Le Conducteur Malin car logbook has its own privacy policy (in French).

What stays on your device

For the game to work, the app saves in your phone’s storage (or your browser’s, for the web version):

  • your progress: lessons completed, answers given (for the workshop and reviews), kilometers, streak, fuel, bolts, league, achievements;
  • your choices: app language, road-rules country, daily goal, reminder time, sounds, Titine’s paint and accessories;
  • the first name and nickname you enter, if you enter one;
  • an identifier drawn at random at first launch, which contains nothing about you.

At first launch, the app reads the language and region set on your phone to suggest the right language and road rules. This happens on the device: nothing is sent.

We do not receive this data: VROOM has no game server at this time. League opponents are practice drivers simulated by the app. The backup code you can copy in your Profile only leaves your device if you paste it somewhere else.

The daily reminder

If you accept, VROOM schedules one notification a day on your phone, at the time you choose. It is prepared by the app itself: no server sends it and no notification token is transmitted. You can turn it off in the app or in your phone settings.

Sharing and duels

When you share your streak or start a duel, the image or link contains your nickname, your score and Titine’s look. You choose who you send it to, with the app of your choice. Duel data is written into the link itself: we do not store it.

The VROOM+ subscription

The subscription is sold and collected by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), with your account with them. We do not receive your bank details, your Apple or Google ID, or your e-mail address.

To know whether your subscription is active, restore it on a new phone and follow our sales, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. (United States). RevenueCat receives the app’s random identifier, the proof of purchase sent by Apple or Google (plan chosen, dates, price, currency, store country, renewal status), and technical information (phone model and system, app version, IP address).

Legal basis: performance of the subscription contract and, for following our sales, our legitimate interest in managing our business. This information is kept for the duration of the subscription, then as long as needed to handle a complaint and to meet our accounting obligations.

Rewarded ads

Without a subscription, you can watch an ad to earn fuel. It is always your choice: no ad is forced on you, and none is loaded for VROOM+ subscribers. Ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited for Europe).

We ask Google for non-personalized ads: they are not chosen based on your profile or your activity in other apps. To show the ad, limit how often it repeats, measure it and fight fraud, Google still processes technical information: IP address (from which it infers an approximate area), advertising identifier or app-specific identifier, phone model and system, language, and your interactions with the ad.

Where the law requires it, in particular in the European Union, a Google form asks for your consent before the first ad. Refusing does not stop you from playing. You can change your mind at any time: in the app, with the “My privacy choices” button on the ads screen, or by writing to us. On iPhone, VROOM does not ask for permission to track you, because it does not track you.

The web version

On leconducteurmalin.fr/vroom, your progress is kept in your browser’s storage. The site is hosted by Vercel (United States), which sees requests pass through without keeping them beyond its technical logs. The web version shows no ads, sells nothing and sets no advertising cookie or tracker: that is why no cookie banner is shown.

Younger players

VROOM is meant for people aged 13 and over, in particular learners preparing their theory test. It is not designed for children under 13. Ads are never personalized, whatever your age, and remain suitable for a young audience. If you are under 15 (or under the age of digital consent in your country), ask a parent before answering Google’s form or subscribing.

Our service providers

  • Apple and Google: app distribution, payment and billing of the subscription, under their own privacy rules.
  • RevenueCat (United States): subscription tracking (see above).
  • Google AdMob: non-personalized rewarded ads (see above).
  • Vercel (United States): hosting of the web version.

Each one only accesses the data needed for its task. Transfers outside the European Union are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider. We do not sell or rent any data.

Your rights

Your progress is on your device: you delete it by deleting the app (or, on the web, the site’s data in your browser). For data held by our providers, you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing by writing to contact@leconducteurmalin.fr. To find a subscription, we may ask you for the Apple or Google receipt. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or with the data protection authority of your country.

Changes

This policy is available in French and English; if they differ, the French version prevails.

If VROOM changes the way it handles your data (for example when online accounts open), this page will be updated before the change, and the app will let you know if your consent is needed. See also the VROOM terms of use and the site’s legal notice (in French).
